Our Mission
The Qualitative Researcher exists to make qualitative research methodology accessible, practical, and rigorous. We believe that every graduate student deserves clear, comprehensive guidance on how to conduct qualitative research — not just what qualitative research is, but how to actually do it well.
The Problem We're Solving
Qualitative methodology is often taught as a single chapter in a quantitative-dominated research methods course. Students learn the names of traditions — phenomenology, grounded theory, ethnography — but struggle to move from conceptual understanding to practical application. How do you actually build a codebook? What does trustworthiness look like in practice? How do you write a findings chapter that balances participant voice with analytical interpretation?
